Our first camp of 2012 on Odd Fellow & Rebekah Island is in the books. We had 11 families out for what could have been to best weather we have ever had for a spring weekend out on the Island.
On Saturday the County set a record high when the temperature reached 29°C. What did that mean for the campers…..that’s right, the swimming area got opened for the first time ever at a Camp Trillium spring weekend and we had over 20 swimmers take part. Everyone had a blast as there was nothing but warm weather and sunshine the whole weekend. Many campers and staff said it felt just like a camp in the summer and they wished they could stay longer. A big shout out to all the staff and volunteers who made this weekend a absolutely amazing weekend for all. I would also like to thank the local Rotary Clubs for coming out and helping us get the site ready for the summer. We had crews building beds, staining cabins and attaching batons to the Activity Hall. Also this weekend was the premier of our first video podcast. Many of you may remember that we started an audio podcast last summer…..well we stepped up our game this year and tried things out this weekend. The podcast was short but we talk about the many possibilities that video will bring to the podcast. Check out the new podcast below.
