On Friday, July 25th, Annaleise Carr will begin record-breaking 75 km swim across Lake Erie to support Camp Trillium!
In the Summer of 2011, Annaleise first visited Camp Trillium’s facility at Rainbow Lake in Waterford, Ontario. Along with the North Shore Swimmers, she was able to raise $15,000 for children with cancer – but she wanted to do more. As she was too young to be a volunteer for Camp Trillium, she had another idea: to become the youngest person to swim across Lake Ontario. On August 19, 2012, she did exactly that – breaking Marilyn Bell’s old record, Annaleise completed her swim in less than 27 hours, at the age of 14 years and 158 days! Although she originally set her goal at raising $30,000 for Camp Trillium, in the end, she was able to raise over $200,000!
Now, Annaleise is beginning her next record-breaking swim, by swimming from Erie, Pennsylvania, to Port Dover, Ontario. The swim will begin on Friday, July 25th, between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00 AM.
