1. Captain Dan …and his mighty fine crew

As he does every year Dan Spirak and his crew of skilled workers came out to OuR Island for some final preparations for the summer. Now cabins 3,4 & 5 have all their battens up as well as the cabins stained….they look brand new. If you were a camper here in the 90’s, you would swear we built new cabins to look like the old ones. Also, there is a nice pole light on the main dock so that it is easier to see at night and a new storage shed was constructed. A big thank you to Dan and his crew for helping us with some much needed work before the summer starts. See you next Spring!

  2. IBM.com Turns in Computers for Hammers

On Thursday and Friday of this week 30 members of the IBM.com Inside Sales Team came out to the Island to help get camp ready for the summer. The group arrived in the midst of a HUGE thunderstorm but that quickly turned into warm weather and sunshine. Many jobs were accomplished over the two days such as: putting battens on cabins 3 & 4, moving program supplies to the various areas of camp, staining the cabins, POD renovations and general cleaning. Thanks again to the IBM.com Inside Sales Team for another successful trip to OuR Island. See you next year!

  3. New Swim Docks Are In!

Our new swim docks got installed today and they look AMAZING! Thanks again to the Quinte Sunrise Rotary who funded this project. Now bring on the Summer!

  4. First Podcast Is Up!

Very exciting news….our first ever podcast from OuR Island is now up in the podcast section of the blog. Have a listen and stay tuned for our next episode. Sorry, but I had the mic level turned up a little too high and there is a bit of noice interference. All and all I must say I am pretty impressed for our first go at this, it was fun!

  5. Local Rotary Clubs Lend a Hand

Today 18 members of the Quinte Sunrise and Wellington Rotary Clubs came out to the Island in preparation of the camping season. Not only did they bring smiles and a hard working attitude but beautiful weather. Thank you for all your help! Here are some pictures.
